Technology Requirements

If you are attending hosting an in-person gathering for the Summer of CS on June 14, 2022, please consider the following technology requirements:


Zoom Events Virtual Platform

  • For the best experience at the virtual Summer of CS, be sure to use a device that meets the following requirements:

    • Zoom desktop client:

      • Windows: 5.7.6 or higher

      • macOS: 5.7.6 or higher

    • Zoom mobile client

      • iOS: 5.7.6 or higher

      • Android: 5.7.6 or higher

    • It is important to note that Chromebooks are not supported on the Zoom Events platform. For the best experience, we recommend using a Windows or MacOS device.

  • In addition to checking your hardware, you will need to access the Summer of CS on Zoom Events using a Basic, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Education Zoom account.

  • Lastly, be sure to update your Zoom software to the current version.

In-Person Meetups at Local County OFfices of Education

For Each Participant

  • Laptop

  • Wired headset

  • A wired or wireless network connection providing at least 2 mbps download and 2 mbps upload speeds

For Each COE Room/Workshop

  • Host Laptop

  • A wired or wireless network connection providing at least 2 mbps download and 2 mbps upload speeds

  • Projector or Large Format LCD Screen

  • High-quality web cam (1080p resolution) recommended

  • Omni-directional microphone

  • Omni-directional speakers

For 2022, the Sacramento County Office of Education recommends using an OWL to meet these requirements.

To provide a connection with virtual participants, all participants should connect to the workshop in the Summer of CS Zoom Events platform.
